Is this Really the End of the World .. or Does it Just Feel Like it?

It probably matters to nobody but me .. but the HTML for this page was posted live at 11:58 PM on 1 June 2020 (Pacific daylight).

My previous entry was posted on 19 Mar 2020. It is titled » Extreme Levels of Inequality Exert Unsustainable Levels of Stress Upon the Very Fabric of Society.

As coincidence would have it, this is the same day that the governor of California, Gavin Newsom, issued an order to shutdown the state in response to the CoVid-19 pandemic .. the first such state to do so.

Update 29 June 2020 » I originally posted this page on June 1st. I was going to write about the CoVid-19 global pandemic and the effects that it is having on me and on the nation and on the world.

At this point, on June 1st, states had been continuing to shut down for a couple months .. for April and May.

But this is when the killing of George Floyd was coming to light .. which seemed to have struck a global nerve.

So we have us a hundred-year global pandemic, which has the country shutdown .. and nobody seems sure about when or how of if it will start back up. And if it does, what will this new world look like?

We also have us a hundred-year collapse of the economy, with unemployment not seen since the Great Depression of the 1930's.

And we have these things amid global protests over the cruel and inhumane treatment of the black man in America.

Do you see my point about this feeling like the end of the world? This is not the world as we have known it.

The end. ■
