» The United States Does Not Torture
Speaking of stepping away from groups of people who are known to embrace racist sentiments .. check out this Vice News interview with Joe Walsh (57).
This is one of the most fascinating political interviews I have ever seen .. for a number of reasons.
Which is why I am mentioning it here .. in this theme where I have already referenced Joe Walsh and some of the things he has said.
He attended the University of Chicago .. so he is no dummy. He is no hick.

» Racism and the Racist Mindset Tends to be Associated with Backward Cultures and an Unenlightened Upbringing
I tend to associate people who embrace racist sentiments with a less-enlightened intellect.
I bet that Mad Dog knows what I am talking about.
I bet that AOC knows what I am talking about.
And look at the way she laid the smack down on Laura Ingraham, the neo-Nazi fan favorite there at Fox "News."
I dont know why Laura Ingraham would do something like this. Didnt she see the way AOC made short work of Peggy Noonan?
Didnt Laura see the way AOC called Andy Barr's bluff and had him stutter-stepping on his back foot?
» The Monstrous Sibling I No Longer Recognize
I wonder what Laura's brother Curtis thinks of her and the offensive things that she says.
Ouch. That's gotta hurt .. when your own brother calls out your behavior as being 'monstrous' toward children. Toward teen girls.
"A sibling who I no longer recognize."
Do you think Laura is bothered by her brother's response? Do you think she lies awake at night ruminating about the implications?
I can't help but wonder what the well-educated Joe Walsh thinks of Laura Ingraham, the neo-Nazi fan favorite who repeatedly defends the racist perspectives of white supremacists.
» When the Need to Deny Effectively Amounts to an Acknowledgment
Joe Walsh says a number of interesting things in this interview .. but I couldnt help but notice where he says (at t=5:45) » "The Republican party is not a racist, bigoted, cruel party."
This is like Obama saying "The United States does not torture." .. where the need to deny something effectively amounts to an acknowledgement that it is indeed so.
I bet that Adam Serwer knows what I am talking about.
Of course everybody knows that the Republican party is a racist party. They are no longer even trying to camouflage it.
They fly the racist flag and they fly it proudly.
I was also struck by his willingness (at t=3:45) to name Jim Jordan as the "most disappointing" of his former congressional colleagues .. who is a "great conservative who doesnt say anything now."
He is saying that Jim Jordan has been neutered by Trump. He is saying that Jim Jordan's balls are sitting in a jar on the nightstand beside Trump's bed.
» Jim Jordan Demonstrates Why He is the #1 Biggest Disappointment
I bet that Jake Tapper knows what I am talking about. Here he is telling Jim Jordan that he can't believe he's okay with Trump pushing the leader of a foreign country to investigate and dig up dirt on a political rival.
Wow .. that was one of the saddest interviews I have ever seen. No wonder Joe Walsh finds him the #1 biggest disappointment. Trump has really neutered him to a remarkable degree.
He has no credibility left. Zero.
» Joe Walsh's Moral Awakening
It would be too easy for me to get carried away responding to the things that Joe Walsh said in his interview .. such as his "moral awakening" mentioned at t=0:40 .. but I simply want to mention this interview here-n-now, and I may return to it later.
Marianne Williamson has said that the nation needs a moral awakening.
Sometimes the obvious needs to be said.
