» Whatever has Happened to the Republican Moral Compass Under Trump?

Coffee Joe also called out the Republicans for repeatedly lacking the moral courage to stand up to Trump's blatant and overt racism.

President Trump identifies with and defends hate groups in America

He took the side of a black man and publicly called out Trump in Elijah's defense. This made me think of what Marshall did here.

This is where you separate the men from the boys. This is where you separate those with a moral backbone from the moral invertebrates .. from those who shrink back in fear at the idea of confronting Trump's nakedly racist rhetoric.

» There is a Reason Why They're Called » Hate Crimes

I bet that Beto knows exactly what I am talking about here.

Beto O'Rourke says that Trump is actively promoting the racism that has led to the deaths in El Paso (4 Aug 2019)

This is why I included an image-link to this video where Coffee Joe poses the question » "Whose side are you on?" .. way back on Page One here.

I clearly remember the Way that the Boss was working that racist angle.

••• today's entry continues here below •••

Because Coffee Joe knows what I am talking about.

Paul Staniland also knows what I am talking about. Heck, he knew this way back in 2017. And probably even before that.

aul Staniland studies violence and killing and political disorder at Univ of Chicago. He says that the odds of non-state violence SOAR when state officials GIVE COVER and legitimacy. He concludes his dual-tweet with » Dangerous and staggeringly irresponsible. (15 Aug 2017).

Back then he wrote about how Trump publicly defended the white nationalists at Charlottesville.I am talking about the racists haters gathered there, and the white supremecists that congregated there that day .. that ugly. That sad and ugly day in American history.

In Twenty-first century American history. A shameful no doubt.

Heck, Trump even stuck up for the Nazis that day. Remember that? I mean, how can we ever forget? Somebody please tell us.

I think that is what made everybody's head spin around a time or two.

"Very fine people" ? Say what? What alternate universe in the President living in? And he's not the only one saying this. There are others who feel the same as he does. A surprising number of them.

» What is Wrong with This Picture? (Take Your Time with Your Answer)

What is wrong with this picture here?

Nazi flag and Confederate flag marching together side-by-side in Charlottesville, VA. August, 2017

There are actually many things wrong with this picture .. but probably none more important than the fact that » such things have already been » judged and condemned.

» The Path to Lamentation, Mourning & Woe

Dont say you werent warned .. yet again.

Because the direction in which these marchers are marching .. that way is full of » lamentaion, mourning and woe.

But dont take my word for it. I urge you to do your own research. Study such things for yourself .. until you can see for yourself .. and not what somebody else told you.

Because they are not morally responsible for you. They are responsible for themselves.

As you will be held responsible for » yourself.

» A Bad Sign, an Omen for Those Who Cannot See What is So Plainly Obvious

And if you cannot see what is wrong with this picture .. then this is a bad sign for you. A very bad sign.

In the end, I cannot make you decisions for you. Only you can do this for yourself. And this is why you will be help responsible for your actions.

What kind of person refers to a flag-waiving and torch-carrying Nazi as "A very fine person," ?

This is not a trick question, folks. Nor is this a hypothetical.

aul Staniland studies violence and killing and political disorder at Univ of Chicago. He says that the odds of non-state violence SOAR when state officials GIVE COVER and legitimacy. He concludes his dual-tweet with » Dangerous and staggeringly irresponsible. (15 Aug 2017).

Dangerous and staggeringly irresponsible.

Dangerously incompetent and staggeringly irresponsible. (Dubya knows exactly what I am talking about.)

Dont say that you werent warned about the danger that accompanies the violence and the hate that is provoked by leaders who are "staggeringly irresponsible."

» The People with Whom You Happen to Find Yourself Resonating Come Judgment Day

Come Judgment day, you dont want to find yourself standing around with people whom you have been passionately supporting for many years ..

.. particularly not if these people whom you supported were morally guilty of provoking violence and and inciting the killing of innocent people.

The Face of Soul-Fucking Anguish Down in El Paso (5 Aug 2019)

If they were morally guilty of encouraging such violence and murder .. you dont want to find yourself standing around with such morally-guilty people .. not on Judgment day. Especially not on Judgment day.

» The Weeping and Gnashing of Teeth Comes When You See (Recognize) that You are Too Late

Because Judgment day would be the #1 worst day to find yourself standing around with these people on.

You will be thinking, "This is the worst day of my life. That Rad dude was right. How did he know? I should have taken his advice .. no matter how difficult his perspective seemed. Because now it is too late. Now I am fucked. I am fucked for good. I am fucked for all eternity. Very fucked. Way more fucked than I ever imagined a person could be. Far beyond my wildest imaginings. Why didnt I listen to the Rad guy? Woe is me forever."

You can trust me on that .. but you should probably do your own research .. your own moral research .. that is if you were smart and diligent and you took responsibility for your actions.

Unfortunately, this is something many people avoid doing. They avoid taking responsibility for themselves and they allow others to define their value-structure.

Too many people allows others to define their own value-structure for them.  This is a big mistake. This is a huge mistake. This is a gigantic mistake.

It's a sad thing for sure. Very sad, indeed. This is why there will be much weeping and gnashing going on .. for quite some time, very likely.

You'll see what I mean .. sooner or later. You certainly won't be able to say that you werent warned.

» Morally Guilty of Murder by Hating the Weak and the Poor and the Vulnerable Enough to Consciously Support Inflicting the Lasting Psychic Trauma of Violence Upon Them

Murder is a strong word .. but one which obviously applies here in this Moral Crisis in which we Americans find ourselves.

Beto O'Rourke tweet to Trump saying 22 people in my hometown are dead after an act of terror inspired by your racism. (6 Aug 2019)

I bet that Isaiah knows what I am talking about.

And this moral crisis shows no sign of stopping, or even slowly. But rather, it seems to be on the increase. (Thanks in part to Donald J Trump .. and thanks in part to other factors.)

My intuition tells me that such strong things .. where innocent lives are being affected almost daily, and have been for more than a decade now ..

My intuition tells me that such things would come with serious consequences. The most serious. (Morally speaking.)

» Your Moral Responsibility Extends to All Areas Over Which You Have Influence at All, Either Little or Much

One of the biggest lessons that I learned working in the nuclear industry .. both military and commercial .. both as a knuckle-dragging tech and an administrator ans a supervisor .. on both the East

Indian Point Nuclear plant, New York, Hudson River

and West coasts ..

San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS)

.. while working with both boiling-water reactors, and also with pressurized-water reactors .. in positions both staff and line ..

In such situations and in such a variety of such nuclear-grade circumstances .. this is where I learned is that you must take responsibility for the domain over which you have any influence at all .. even to domains over which you have not bee formally assigned..

Because, if you dont .. if you dont take responsibility for these adjacent domains .. then other people will come from far away and they tell you what you can do and what you can't do .. with this thing over which you have been assigned responsibility.

They will come with the authority to tell you how to do your job.

Few things in life suck worse .. than somebody telling you that you are incompetent and that you dont know what you are doing and that you suck so badly at doing whatever it is that you are doing ..

.. that you are wrongly hurting innocent citizens .. and especially the weak and the poor and the helpless.

Because this is where He-Who-Exercises-Righteous-Deeds-of-Vengeance-and Justice-for the Oppressed .. gets involved.

(Ask me know I know.)

You actually must also assume responsibility for other domains, and the people who live and operate in those domains over which you have NOT been assigned to.

This is because you will probably be fingered responsible for the fuck-ups of others. So you also need to keep your feelers out for things that are happening in other domains.

So that you can keep others from fucking up .. no matter how hard they might be trying to.

If you dont know what I am talking about .. then a part of me envies you.

This section actually plays into what I was talking to Taylor about. The social thing that I wasnt prepared to tackle.

» I Could Feel the Boss Working that Racist Angle

I remember thinking, "Ooh, I can feel him working that racist angle. This can't be a good thing for racists."

Ronald Reagan recorded talking to Nixon using a racial slur to refer to Africans as 'monkeys' (National Archives, Oct 1971, posted 31 July 2019)

I wonder what Reagan thinks of that. I can almost hear the weeping and gnashing of teeth now.

» I Wouldnt have Believed it if I Hadnt Actually Heard Him Say it with My Own Ears

Here is a follow-up piece (1 Aug 2019) by his daughter, Patti Davis .. who says she wouldnt have believed it if she hadnt actually heard him say it with her own ears.

I had the exact same thought myself, which is why I included a link to the YouTube page that contains the audio itself .. and not merely the page that says "Of course there are tapes."

Reagan called President Nixon to slur Africans as 'monkeys.' Of course there are tapes.

I am reminded here of something that Padma once wrote .. about how you dont really know people the way you think you do.

» Actions Speak Louder

If actions speak louder than words, then what do Reagan's actions say about him?

Reagan's decision-making drove policy based on the same old race-baiting Southern strategy of Goldwater and Nixon.

Food for thought.

» Elijah Probably Knows this Better than Anybody

Anyway, I bet that Elijah Cummings knows all about the unfolding national moral crisis that I am talking about.

Trump the racist president signals that he intends to run a blatantly racist reelection campaign (29 July 2019)

How could he not? Heck, he probably knows it better than anybody.

Trump the racist president is signaling that he intends to run a blatantly racist reelection campaign .. right after we elected the first black president in our nation's history.

» I Hate These People .. Let's All Hate These People

Check out what Trump said here, publicly, with his own mouth on the Larry King show in 1989.

Trump saying (in 1989 on Larry King) » 'I hate these people. Let's all hate these people. Because hate is what we need.'

He said » "I hate these people. Let's all hate these people. Because hate is what we need."

I wonder what scripture says about such hate.

» Everything Trump Touches Dies

Rick Wilson knows what I am talking about regarding the present state of our nation's affairs.

Republican Strategist Rick Wilson tells Trump: 'Why don't you just use the n-word and get it over with? You're almost there and you clearly want to.'

He is the guy who wrote the book titled » Everything Trump Touches Dies: A Republican Strategist Gets Real About the Worst President Ever (2018).

We would all like to think that Mr. Wilson was employing hyperbole in his tweet. But unfortunately he wasnt.

» Where is Their Moral Courage?

I wonder why no Republicans have the balls .. why no Republicans have the moral courage .. why no Republicans have the intestinal fortitude .. to confront and condemn Trump's blatantly racist attacks against people of color. His repeated and recurring racist attacks.

Elise Jordan says that the reason why spineless Republicans are not condemning Trump's blatantly racist attacks against people of color is because ..

Elise Jordan says the reason why spineless Republicans are not condemning Trump's blatantly racist attacks against people of color .. is because they are 'petrified' of him .. because they have let him bully them for years. (29 July 2019)

.. is because they are 'petrified' of him .. because they have let him bully them for years.

They must have balls the size of BBs .. if they have any balls at all. If they have any moral courage at all.

What do you call a man who has balls the size of BBs and no moral spine to speak of? (Dubya knows what I am talking about.)

» How Many Republicans Want Their Sons to Grow Up to be Just Like Donald Trump?

How many of these Republican senators want to see their sons grow up to be just like Donald Trump?

Maybe some senator will write a book on how to raise your children so that they turn out to be just like Donald Trump.

Is Donald Trump a role model for the sons of evangelical parents? Somebody please ask Jerry Fallwell Jr this question for me.

Trump meets Giancarlo Granda at Liberty University with Jerry Falwell Jr (2012)

When they are in the grocery store with their children, do they say, "Oh look, little Billy .. there's a black person in the check-out line. Let's go over there and tell him to go back to the rat-infested village where he came from." ?

Or, "Oh look, little Jimmy. There's a hot chick in the ice cream aisle. Let's go over there and grab her pussy. Just tell her that you're famous and she'll let you do it." ?

Or how about, "Oh look, little Johnny. There's a Mexican rapist standing at the tortilla section. Let's go over there and ask him how many people he has raped this week." ?

Dont we teach our kids to shun and reject everything that Trump represents?

The last remaining black Republican member of the House, Texas Rep Will Hurd says you shouldve learned in kindergarten not to be an asshole (2 Aug 2019)

This is why I feel that a class in Ethics should be required for graduation from both high school and college, and especially from Law school.

personality.

» Eddie Glaude Speaks Bluntly on Racism in America

One of the things that made me feel happy .. was this statement made by Eddie Glaude. He is a professor of African American Studies at Princeton.

The mere fact that a a black man is speaking aloud these words on television .. this a big deal.

Eddie Glaude says America likes to tell itself myths and fables about our inherent goodness in order to hide our dark secrets so we can maintain a willful ignorance that protects our innocence. (7 Aug 2019)

You almost can't believe what your ears are hearing. In the grand scheme of things, this is a big deal.

So cool what he was saying that I transcribed the first part of his words here:

America is not unique in its sins as a country.
We're not unique in our evils, to be honest.
Where we may be singular is in our refusal to acknowledge them,
and in the legends and myths we like to tell ourselves about our inherent, you know, "goodness,"
in order to hide and cover and conceal
so that we can maintain a kind of willful ignorance that protects our innocence.

He is talking about » self deception .. is he not?

We are better at deceiving ourselves than others (at t=1:10)

The second part is where he talks about the key factors driving such things.

He says that social scientists knew back in 2009 that the Tea Party was really about anxieties over demographic shifts, and not about economic populism.

Eddie Glaude says social scientists knew back in 2009 that the Tea Party was really about demographic shifts, and not about economic populism (7 Aug 2019)

Keep it up, Eddie. Promising words.

» The Black Man Will Naturally be Able to Speak to Issues of Racism with Maximum Authenticity

I have always felt that a black man or woman is going to know best about racism. This is why I wanted Obama to talk more about it.

I mean, blacks are right in the middle racism, so they will naturally know better the current state of racism in America .. which is now at crisis levels.

I normally defer to people of color when conversations on such topics arise. I am more interested in their opinions and their experiences.

» Bryan Stevenson, Equal Justice Initiative

Speaking of the black man and the authenticity that he brings to the table of justice ..

Of all the things I have seen on approaches toward bringing justice to racist injustice .. these ideas promoted by Bryan Stevenson struck me as the best plan. See what you think. He has an HBO special or documentary or a docu-series.

Bryan Stevenson of the Equal Justice Initiative says the U.S. should face racism like Germany faces the Holocaust (14 July 2019)

I mean, if we really want to stop fucking around and pretending like racism is a figment of the negro mind.
