» His Foot has Slipped
When I saw Trump hold up the executive order after signing it ..
.. the one ending refugee children being separated from their parents .. after fleeing violence and threats of violence in their home countries (Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador) ..
.. when I saw him hold up that executive order .. the voice in my head said, "His foot has slipped. The day of his calamity is near."

I bet that Eddie Glenn knows what I am talking about.
» Producing Extensive Evil to Individuals or Communities
The term calamity is defined as:
- An event that brings terrible loss, lasting distress, or severe affliction.
- Dire distress resulting from loss or tragedy.
- Any great misfortune or cause of misery - generally applied to events or disasters which produce extensive evil, either to communities or individuals.
A calamity doesnt sound like a good thing.
» What a Hypocrite
I wonder what Mike Pence thinks of this. He seems to be familiar with the way that bad morals can end up incinerating the planet.
He is such a hypocrite. He is a hypocrite's hypocrite. Paul says that such people condemn themselves.
Peter says to rid yourself of all hypocrisy. (Mike mustve skipped that part.)
Jesus himself warned the people about the hypocrisy of the members of the Establishment of his day ..
.. saying that these Establishment members do not practice what they preach ..
.. and that these self-righteous Establishment hypocrites like to major in the minor things .. while neglecting the really important stuff, such as justice and mercy.
Mike Pence is the Establishment of our day .. a part of the Establishment. So I probably shouldnt be so surprised at his hypocrisy.
crisy has been moved to its own page .. see here » Hypocrisy in America(2 Oct 2018).
» Incapable of Ethical Functioning
We must be in the "later times" .. because Paul says that this is when some believers will:
» turn away from the faith, paying attention instead to deceitful and seductive spirits and doctrines of demons, misled by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared as with a branding iron, leaving them incapable of ethical functioning.
Notice in particular the phrase » incapable of ethical functioning.
Does that not accurately describe the Trump administration? They lie, cheat, and steal .. and are proud of it. I won't even get into all the greed.
I bet that Colin Powell knows what I am talking about.
This means that it is time for the revealing of the children of God.
» To What Degree are Citizens Morally Responsible for Their Government's Actions?
Speaking of unethical behavior .. to what degree are we, as citizens of this society, morally responsible for this lasting psychic trauma? .. for this particular brand of cruelty that is inflicted upon the most vulnerable and those least able to endure it?
All of it? Some of it? None of it? Is anybody morally responsible for this lasting psychic trauma being inflicted upon these children?
You probably want to take your time with that one .. because you dont want to get it wrong. Cornelius knows what I am talking about.
» Are These Really the Types of Values that I Want My Life to be Associated With?
You might want to check yourself .. to see if this is something that you really want to be associated with .. that you really want to be part of.
Certainly the children did nothing wrong to deserve such lasting psychic trauma .. to their still-forming psyches.
Methodist Pastor Will Green of Andover, Mass knows what I am talking about
Oh, this guy made my whole day. Why dont we have more pastors like him?
» Members of Homeland Security Advisory Council Resign Over Admin's "Morally Repugnant" Policy
I bet that these members of the Homeland Security Advisory Council who resigned over the administration's "morally repugnant" policy of separating children from their parents .. I bet that they know exactly what I am talking about.
Good for them. I bet that their conscience is breathing easier.
I particularly noticed their use of the phrase "morally repugnant." See .. if a person's conscience does not find this practice morally repugnant .. this policy of separating defenseless immigrant children from their parents .. if a person does not find such a practice morally repugnant .. what does this say about such a person?
You might want to take your time with that one.
» No Question About Traumatic Psychological Injury to the Child
Because Jonathan White, the HHS commander, testified before Congress saying (at t=2:30) » "There is no question that separation of children from parents entails significant potential for traumatic psychological injury to the child."
Go ahead and listen to him say it for yourself. You might wanna make a note of it. I wonder what Mika thinks of this. I wonder what Chris Hayes thinks.
» No Plan or Intention to Ever Reunite the Children with Their Parents
At t=1:30 in this video, Senator Hirono of Hawaii, who sits on the Judiciary committee, says »
"When the Homeland Security people, or when the Zero Tolerance policy was instituted, and all these parents are going to be criminally prosecuted, they had to separate the children from the parents and they had absolutely no plan or intention of ever having to reunify these 3,000 or so children with their parents. In fact, what they did with these children was made them instant orphans and sent them to Health and Human Services jurisdiction and pretty much Homeland Security washed their hands of it, But for this judge in San Diego who said "You will reunite these children."
Is this not a startling statement that the senator made? She said that the government never planned to reunite these children with their parents.
You almost can't believe what you are hearing .. because it is such a cruel thing to do .. to the most vulnerable.
You might want to read that again .. or better yet, listen to her say it herself (at t=1:30). She was there at the hearing.
If it wasnt for that judge there in San Diego...
» Laura Bush Knows What I Am Talking About
Laura Bush knows what I am talking about.
I like her writing here. I wouldve put a period after 'boundaries' .. even though the comma is technically correct. But short, punchy sentences are what work here. Short declarative sentences. Unambiguous statements that declare where you stand.
I wonder if she wrote this herself, or if she has a message-crafter who crafts her public messages.
It was the incompetence and the irresponsibility and the spinelessness of her husband that established the pre-conditions necessary for a Trump-like character to rise ..
.. but let's gives props where props are due.
» Remembered as the Age of Corruption and Cruelty
I took particular note of Laura's use of the term » cruel .. to describe this administration's zero-tolerance policy. I wonder what Charlie Sykes thinks of that.
Somebody should ask him .. because he is the guy who wrote the book titled » How the Right Lost Its Mind (2017).
The term cruel is defined as:
- Disposed to inflict pain or suffering.
- Disposed to give pain to others; willing or pleased to hurt, torment, or afflict; destitute of sympathetic kindness and pity; savage; inhuman; hard-hearted; merciless.
I feel like I am stating the obvious here when I say that .. corruption and cruelty are not things that you want to be remembered by .. or that you want your generation to be remembered by.
But sometimes the obvious needs to be said. Simon Peter knows what I am talking about.
» The Cruelty is the Point
Adam Serwer knows what I am talking about. He wrote a piece subtitled » President Trump and his supporters find community by rejoicing in the suffering of those they hate and fear. (3 Oct 2018)
He seems to be echoing what Charlie Sykes said.
You'll see what I mean .. sooner or later. I can almost hear the weeping and gnashing of teeth now.
